Impact of Budgets Cuts On EAPN’s Policy Work EUROPEAN ANTI-POVERTY NETWORK RÉSEAU EUROPÉEN DES ASSOCIATIONS DE LUTTE CONTRE LA PAUVRETÉ ET L’EXCLUSION SOCIALE

 Budget Cuts  The General Idea:  Cut core funding down to 1 Million from 1.6  Actual amount granted from CE: 989,000  Add: Project: Joint Action on the European Semester :  Actual amount for 2014: 260,000  The actual amount need to be complementd with 20 per co-funding

Where were the cuts made? EAPN had to let people go, including policy support Working hours reduced: in the policy area: Amana and Vincent down to 80 per cent Interpretation – no interpretation anymore except for statutory meetings – you feel the impact today Translation – cut down to a minimum – no translation of documents in the secretariat – still a little support for networks to translate Reduced general assembly Merging meetings No new task forces (6 meetings left for this year) No learning Forum 1 Capacity building event only Policy conference will only be a policy seminar Contracts for networks remain

The Joint Alliance The General Idea: Building Cross sectoral alliances with that aim of Producing joint reports on CSRs and NRPs and the Semester process.
