TODAY'S OBJECTIVES AND AGENDA Students will be able to understand the importance of trying something new by discussing the importance of curiosity through small-group and whole-class discussion and by completing an activity asking students to spark their curiosity. COURSE ASSESSMENTS Written Tasks: 1.Written Task 1: Imaginative piece in which you break out of the traditional writing mode. This will still demonstrate your understanding of the course work and your ability to analyze critically. 2.Written Task 2: This is a critical response to a text written in response to one of the six prescribed questions from the IB Language A: Literature and Language Guide. Further Oral Activity: You will complete two FOAs (Part I and Part II) that will require you to use spoken language to deliver information to your classmates. Marks are a form of INTERNAL ASSESSMENT and the marks will be added together with the INDIVIDUAL ORAL COMMENTARY (senior year) and divided by two to give you a score. A subject committee will convene at the end of each exam session to decide upon grade boundaries. Other Assessments: English 11 SOL, quizzes, tests, projects, practice papers, annotations, homework, classwork, etc.
