Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Forgive: Stop demanding punishment or restitution. To pardon, release from debt

Forgiveness is a story, a lifestyle, not a moment. Forgive and forget is rubbish Forgiveness is a gift

Forgiveness does not demand they change first Forgiveness returns to God the right to take care of justice Forgiveness is trusting God Forgiveness opens the door for God to move

Forgiveness is a command and a choice Forgiveness does not mean the pain is instantly removed

Forgiveness does not mean you deny the other person’s responsibility Forgiveness does not minimise or justify the wrong Forgiveness is not based on a feeling

It is crucial to forgive yourself Forgiveness always requires humility

“…when I carry unforgiveness and anger around it basically makes me choked up and unable to receive God’s love and grace for myself. We have to get rid of it” Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Forgiveness is daring to believe a better future…It means moving ahead with your life

BENEFITS: Healing; spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially Opens the door for God’s kingdom to grow

Action: Time of reflection Reflect on people who have forgiven you. How did that make you feel? Reflect on people you have intentionally forgiven in the past. What happened through that? Who is God bringing to your mind that you need to forgive?

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 1:7 In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation With God we have been forgiven and reconciled with Him.
