What we are best known for (1) IB Results 2016:  The world average was  Varndean College’s average was  Of a total of 43 students 16 obtained 40 points, one student obtained 45 points – the maximum points possible.  98% pass rate

What we are best known for (2) Our A Levels % A Level pass rate One in ten awarded A* grade 56.4% achieved grades A* - B 81% achieved grades A* - C o Visual Arts courses (Fine Art, Graphic Design, 3D Design, Textiles and Photography) achieved 100% A level pass rates and over 92% of students achieved A*-C. This follows on from the ‘outstanding’ grade for Visual Arts from Ofsted

University destinations(3) In 2016: - 100% Success Rate for Varndean IB Medicine and Veterinary Applicants -63% of Varndean IB applicants took up places at Russell Group Universities -21% of Varndean IB applicants took up places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities -Our international students obtained places at Nottingham, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Southampton, Bath, Queen Mary & Imperial College.
