Profit!

The Hi-tech route will utilize a few useful “real life” tools such as A/D convertors, Encoders, and Commercial grade sensors to accurately and precisely calculate it’s progression through the maze. AppMod boards: When Parallax built the “Board-of- Education” they put in a small 20 pin “expansion header and called it AppMod.

Hi-Tech Route’s

 Simple to integrate into Boe-Bot  Easy to interface to Basic stamp  Provides more accurate mapping  Possibly lead to Complex motor control schemes

 Easy to read serial interface  Up to 4 analog channels  Low power consumption  TTL Voltage levels

 Proven accuracy  4-30cm Detection distance  Accuracy independent of surface reflectivity ratio  Power from +5vdc  Small footprint

 Buy parts!  Experiment with Lo-Tech and Hi-Tech approaches  Test Binary IR sensors  Test Sharp IR sensors  Choose one to focus on!  Build AppMod board  Implement algorithm into code  Fine tune things  Solve the maze!
