Background  We live in a period of expediential change brought on by a number forces including the global economy, consumer needs, new brain research, government mandates,and the technology revolution. Our schools have been criticized for not adequately responding to these forces to prepare our students for success in this rapidly changing world.

How will we respond?  First we must gain a better understanding of the challenge before us and the direction for change and reform in our schools.

Process  1) Who are 21st century learners and what are their learning needs?  2) What are the skills and competencies that students of the 21st century will need to be successful global citizens?  3) How do we develop a clear plan to address the curriculum and program, teacher expertise, and assessment practices needed to mee the needs of 21st century learners?

Who are 21st learners?  Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants   Can anyone use an iPhone?   A vision of k-12 atudents today   Learning today 
