Presentation transcript:

 I received my Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and teaching credential from Azusa Pacific University.  This is my 18 th year teaching middle school mathematics.  I have been at Beattie since it opened.

 Carnegie Learning Math Series Course 2  The book stays in class  Students carry one chapter at a time in their binders.  Book are consumable (the students write directly in them).  Students write the examples in class and extra examples are provided in the summary at the end of each chapter.

 Homework – 20 % › Must show work › Please use pencil › All assignments are scaled to be out of 10 points. Students can earn an extra 10% (up to 100%) for correcting their homework in class.  Test/Quizzes – 30%  District Exams – 5% › Common Assessments and Semester Exams  Class work/Participation – 45% › MATHia › Openers › Textbook with notes › Projects

 My tests and quizzes can be corrected for extra credit. › Must correct all problems missed on the test. › Corrections must be done on a separate paper and stapled to the original test. › Copy the problem onto the paper. › Must show all possible work.

 I accept late work for the current chapter. › The deadline for late work is the day of the chapter test. › Late projects will be accepted for reduced credit.

 All assignments must be done in pencil.  No work = No Credit  Assignments can be corrected in class for an extra 10%.  Chapter Packets are collected the day of the test.  Students are responsible for having complete notes, even when absent.

 Please visit my webpage on the Beattie website. › › Select communities, then teacher websites. › Click the + next to math, then select Math 7 H – Center  You will find information on: › What is happening in class › Homework assignments › Parent letters sent home › MATHia at home › The online textbook and workbooks › This Power Point!
