May 3 - June 2, 2012: David Lewis, Mon. through Sat. 10 am to 5:30 pm David Carmack Lewis : 206 SW First Ave. DAVID CARMACK LEWIS paints oil paintings on canvas depicting intriguing, unusual and ordinary scenes from neighborhood life. Glowing fires, crows, people, animals, structures, and train stations often appear in his paintings. He wants you to create a story that inspires you by viewing his paintings. His career began as an illustrator, and he has never given up on narrative image making. Originally from Virginia, David has resided in Portland, Oregon since He earned his BFA at the Virginia Commonwealth University and also studied in Cardiff, Wales, UK. Exhibits change monthly at the Attic Gallery:

“A mysterious beauty resonates through these paintings instilling dark reverence. David's contrasting use of deep shadows and warm light appeals to our subconscious with the flavor of ancient folk tales" FireHouse Gallery, 2008 Rogue Community College. David features new work created this year at Playa Summer Lake Residency Program in Eastern Oregon. By exploring the limited spectrums of various light sources and how they compete with the darkness, David reveals a new dramatic tableau of narrative potential, encouraging the viewer to engage with his new work.

George has painted landscapes, seascapes, farm scenes and now his speciality centers around sophisticated ladies painted with imaginative use of color, design, and sumptuous forms while they reside in intriguing settings.
