P- 1 African Tourist

P- 2 African Tourist Two passengers on a British charter flight transiting Bucharest on the way to London from Africa were found unconscious in the transit lounge. Both were carrying Ethiopian passports. One was declared dead by the airport doctor; the other is still unconscious and in critical condition. Medical officials at the airport recall vaguely of reports concerning an Ebola epidemic in the general vicinity of the charter flight’s departure airport. Airport authorities are asking for immediate advice on what action to take regarding the dead person and the other critically ill individual.

P- 3 African Tourist (continued) A discreet check with medical experts at the University of Bucharest reveals there is limited expertise on contagious African diseases –One certainty is that the Ebola virus then is highly contagious and deadly. A decision must be made regarding the onward flight of the charter and its passengers. The Captain of the plane has been told only that two of his passengers are very ill. He proposes to leave them behind and fly to London. The Ministry of transport receivers a press query about a “death at the airport.”
