Cause There is a higher death rate than a birth rate. And the life expectancy increases. Expenses, the bigger the family the harder it is for parents to provide for the children, housing, cost of education etc. While the country's population increases, it tends to become more expensive as childbirth, and other life needs will be mandatory which causes families to have less children which slowly slows down birth rates, to be able to afford everything that child/ children need.

Consequences In time the countries will have too few consumers and skilled workers to keep their economy working See a reduction in their competitive advantage in science and technology Have closures of schools and shops, especially in smaller towns and villages Experience problems in providing pensions and social care for an ageing population.

too many over 65

Causes More economically developed countries have an increase in life expectancy due to: Improvements in health care Improvements in hygiene Improvements in education The development of new drugs and medicines Development in medical knowledge and understanding

What problems are associated with having an ageing pop?  Many of the population will have to eventually live alone when their married partner dies.  The ageing population will depend on the economically active which are very few to be depended on.  If there are is an increasing ageing population the country will not be able to provide enough health care to the people.  There are lengthy waits for hospitalization.  The risk of crime and traffic increases in urban areas, and those who live in rural areas and cannot drive will have difficulties reaching their destinations. Esp. in emergencies.
