Warm Up # 2 What is the best story you have about someone misunderstanding a text, tweet, snap chat etc. What caused the misunderstanding? What happened as a result?

Today’s Goals Explain my expectations for your work Teach you how I want you to write when answering questions in class.

Assignment Expectations

Your Work You work is an example of your best effort in my class. Your work should be… Clear Readable Not look like garbage You work may be returned to you to be redone if it does not meet these requirements

How to Turn in Work On time assignments will be collected by me. Late work is turned into the “late work” basket on my desk. Late work will be graded when I have time, if you want accurate grades turn your work in on time.

Missing or Make Up Work All previous assignments can be found in the crate on the counter Before asking me for an assignment you need to look in the crate

Grades All assignments are graded as quickly and accurately as possible. Grades will be posted and can be checked on PowerSchool

Missing Assignments If you find that you have a missing assignment that you feel you have turned in you should, 1. Look in you binder and locker. 2. Ask to look in the “no-name” folder. 3. Talk to me about how you can make up that assignment.

Passing Back Your Work I will pass back your work as often as possible to give your quick feedback. When your work is passed back you need to check your grade and make sure that everything is accurate. If everything is accurate you may put your work in your binder. You may never throw your work away in my classroom.

Lastly…. Give me the best that you have everyday!

Cave/Office Hours How do I get requested? Cave Request Slips Why I am here? Lots of reasons! What should I do now? Lots of stuff!

STAND-UP, HAND-UP, PAIR-UP

That doesn’t sound right?

Misunderstandings

Complete have… Complete Punctuation Complete Content

1. Punctuation All sentences begin with… A capital letter All sentences end with… A punctuation mark (. ? ! )

Practice can I go to the bathroom. I don’t like homework. I love pie.

2. Content A complete sentence must express a complete thought. Fragments are thoughts that are incomplete.

To express a complete thought a stenches must… Not need further explanation or clarification. Should try and avoid unclear words such as He, It, They etc. These words don’t tells us who or what we are talking about.

Practice It was Mrs. Scarlet in the kitchen with the wrench! I love skittles because they are delicious!
