Where Is Scotland????? Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it of a border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. In addition to the mainland, Scotland includes over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides.

Capital of Scotland Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, the second, and the eighth most popular largest city in Scotland City in the United Kingdom. The Council governs one of Scotland's 32 local government area. Located in the south- east of Scotland, Edinburgh lies on the east coast of the Central Belt, along the Firth of Forth, near the North Sea.

Culture and Traditions Scottish Music is one of the many cultures. A famous traditional Scottish instrument is the Great Highland Bagpipes, a wind instrument consisting of three drones and a melody pipe, which are fed continuously by a bag of air. Bagpipe bands, featuring bagpipes and various types of drums, and showcasing Scottish music styles while creating new ones, have spread throughout the world. The clarsach (harp), fiddle and accordion are also traditional Scottish instruments. Today, there are many successful Scottish bands and individual artists in varying styles.

Food!!!!!!! Scottish Food and Drink Arbroath Smoky A wood-smoked haddock still produced in small family smoke- houses in the East coast fishing town of Arbroath. Bannocks (or Oatcakes) A barley and oat-flour biscuit baked on a griddle. In modern times bannocks are often eaten with cheese. There are several traditional recipes and many manufacturers in Scotland today. Scottish Beef The Aberdeen-Angus breed of beef cattle are now widely reared across the world. Renown for their rich and tasty meat, which makes excellent steaks. Good butchers will still hang and prepare meat in the traditional manner, although these butchers are rare these days and people often complain that even Scotch Beef has lost its taste. And this is only a few!!!!!!

Language! The languages of Scotland are the languages spoken or once spoken in Scotland. The numerous languages spoken in Scotland during its recorded history fall into either the Germanic or Celtic language families. The classification of the Pettish language was once controversial but it is now generally considered a Celtic language. Today, the primary languages spoken in Scotland are English, Scots and Scottish Gaelic. The dialect of English spoken in Scotland is termed Scottish English.

Money! This is Scottish money. There are 100,50,20,10,5 and 1 pound notes. There are also 1,2,5,10, and 50 pence coins.

Scotland's National Products The Thistle is Scotland's national flower. The national flag for Scotland is the St. Andrew's Cross On 30 November it is St. Andrew's Day Bank Holiday.

Extra Information! Scotland was in the Rugby World Cup 2011 but they didn’t even make the quarter-finals!!!!! Scotland is ranked 10 th in the world for rugby. Scotland is the first country that had a fire-brigade.

Extra Information 2 Scotland is made of 790 islands, 130 which is inhabited. Scotland will host the Common Wealth Games in J.K Rowling started writing Harry Potter in a small coffee shop in Edinburgh.
