God Our Father, Thank you for giving us this opportunity to be members of this optimistic team in our school. We pray that: You bless us in all of the activities that we take part in, especially during our times of prayer together. Guide us in our charity and fundraising events to bring joy to the people in need. Thank you for the gifts and talents of this team. May we open our hearts to the adventure of following in the footsteps of Jesus. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen

To set the right example to all children and staff To try to live out the mission statement To help people to encourage our faith and beliefs To help spread the word of God To make the school a happy and religious place To help others To encourage believers to be confident in being Catholic To help others grow in Christ To work hard for the community To guide people on the right path to God To encourage other children to spread the word of God To help people to understand the Rosary and other forms of prayer. To preach to people about the word of God To offer help in the parish for special times of the year.

Our main aim is to guide and lead the school in prayer and the Christian Way of life. We will do this by presenting assemblies and leading prayer sessions on a regular basis. We also hope to raise money for many charities in fun and inventive ways as well as explaining the main aims of the charity. One of the big projects that we are looking forward to doing along with the Eco Council is a grotto style prayer garden that people can go to and reflect for a little while.

This year we shall be supporting Emmaus, Welcome Home Ministries of Tanzania, Santa Maria Education Fund, NSPCC, CAFOD, The Catholic Children’s Society, The Passage and finally Sustainable St Albans.

During Advent, we will present each class with a travelling crib. Each night a child will take it home to pray with your family and think of how you can spiritually prepare yourselves for the birth of Christ. You will place the figurines in the crib, read the Christmas story, reflect on your Advent promises and pray with your family.

During Lent, we will also have a small Lenten bag to give to each class. Again, each child will be able to take it home to pray with their family, think about their Lenten promises and reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

As you will see from our display outside, October is the Month of the Rosary. During the month of October, we pray the way in which Mary taught us by saying the Rosary. There are 4 different mysteries of the Rosary all about the events during Jesus’ life. ( Sorrowful, Joyful, Glorious and the Luminous)

 Each time a decade is prayed it includes 1 Our Father, 10 Hail Marys and The Glory Be to the Father.  Please join with us and the Rosary club now as we say a decade of the Rosary.  Try to make some time this month to pray the Rosary. Please remember that Mr Soyka and Mrs Porter will pray the Rosary every Thursday and Friday of this month at 8.45am in the prayer area. We hope you can make it.

This is our intentions book which is kept near our display where you can write any suggestions for us or the names of people you would like us to pray for. Please feel free to add to this at anytime. Let us have a few moments silence as we remember all of the names of the people in this book. Thank you for joining us in this act of worship The Chaplaincy Team.
