THE LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM

BONES They are the hardest part of our body. The femur and the humerous are bones.

MUSCLES They are soft and are under the skin. They can contract and relax. The biceps and the gluteus are muscles

JOINTS They are the place where bones join together. The elbow and knee are joints. They are the place where bones join together. The elbow and knee are joints.

THE SKELETON THE FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON THE FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON - It holds up our body, like the bones in the spine. - It protects the most delicate parts of our body, like the ribs. - It helps move our body.

THE SKELETON SOME BONES OF THE SKELETON SOME BONES OF THE SKELETON - Our head has the bones of the skull like the frontal bone, and the bones of the face, like nasal bones. - Our trunk has bones like the ribs and the vertebrae that form the spine. - Our limbs have bones like the ulna in the arm and the tibia in the leg.

JOINTS THERE ARE 3 TYPES THERE ARE 3 TYPES - Movable joints. They make important movements. (Shoulders) - Semi-movable joints. They make small movements. (Spine) - Fixed joints. They can´t move. (Skull)
