Very typical of particular thing or of someone’s character. A special quality or feature of something or someone that is typical of them and easy to recognize.( Longman Advance American Dictionary )

The main character, usually the one who sets the action in motion.

A person who fights, struggles or contends, against another in a combat or contest of any kind, adversary, opponent.

Those types of characters who have become conventional or stereotypical through repeated use in particular types of stories. Stock characteristic are instantly recognizable to readers or audience member.

FLAT CHARACTER Flat character is built around “a single idea or quality” and is represented without much individualizing detail, and therefore can be fairly adequately described in a single phrase or sentence. This characteristic is notable for one of personality trait.

ROUND CHARACTER Round character is complex in temperament in motivation and is represented with subtle particularity; such a character therefore is a difficult to describe with any adequacy as a person in real life, and like real person, is capable of surprising us.
