Religious Education at Marlborough Primary School At Marlborough Primary school all staff are expected to uphold and promote the fundamental principles of British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Religious Education The legal requirements mean religious education will be provided to all pupils from Reception to Year 6. We follow the Sunderland Agreed Syllabus 2014

 We aim to : Develop pupils’ awareness of spiritual and moral issues arising in their lives; Develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other major world religions or value systems adhered to in the UK; Develop pupils’ understanding of what it means to be committed to a religious tradition; Support pupils to reflect on their own experiences and develop a personal response to the fundamental questions of life; To develop an understanding of religious traditions, and an appreciation of cultural differences in the UK today; To develop their investigative and research skills, in order to hold reasoned opinions on religious issues; To develop pupils’ respect for other people's views, and hence to celebrate diversity in society.

Supporting charities and community projects : lie We support our local Food Bank and collect food and other goods to help people in the Sulgrave area. This is our school Governor, Rev Julie Wing who supports us with our work in RE. This is our Harvest work where we collected for the Food Bank.
