College and Career Awareness offers exploration and preparation in college and career pathways. It helps you to figure out what you want to do for a career and what training you will need. This class will help you identify your interests, abilities, and skills. Our Mission

You will begin to make college and career goals for the future. College and Career Awareness will help you learn about the Utah labor market and the employment opportunities which you can prepare for by defining a College and Career Ready Plan. Our Mission Cont.

Agriculture You will learn about the many different careers that are related to agriculture. Agriculture has gone high- tech. It’s more than just a farmer plowing a field and planting crops. Learn how agriculture relates to Business, Family and Consumer Science, and Tech Ed.

Business and Marketing Does anyone have a great idea for a product or service? You need business and marketing skills to be successful! There are many different types of business and marketing careers: accounting, finance, administrative and technical support, entrepreneurship, management, hospitality and tourism, human resources management and marketing.

Family and Consumer Sciences It Looks Good Enough to Eat!! There are many jobs related to Family and Consumer Science. Not only in the food industry but also in clothing design, child care, and many others. We will be learning about all of the possibilities.

Health Science Who wants to be a healthcare worker? There are more occupations in the medical field than just doctors and nurses. Some of the possibilities: recreational or occupational therapists, emergency medical services, exercise physiologists, biotechnology technicians, and medical forensics.

Information Technology Photo touch-up, 3D modeler, cartoon animator, computer generated imagery creator, online gaming. Fun careers in the IT field. IT education programs encourage and promote teamwork, lifelong learning, hands-on experience, ethical behavior, and communication skills.

Technology, Engineering, and Skilled and Technical Sciences Learn about engineering and the design process; construction, manufacturing, and production technologies; energy, power, and work. There are many careers in these areas.

Project-Based Learning A project-based learning experience means a work that is substantial, meaningful, and shared with others. These are hands-on projects that can help you determine likes and dislikes related to choosing a career.

Work-Based Learning Provide career awareness and exploration experiences. Learn from those in the different occupations.

Career Development Applications What are your aspirations? Can you really afford the lifestyle you would like to have? Time for a “Reality Check”. With good planning, timing, and setting goals, yes, you can afford that lifestyle. You will also need positive employment traits and be able to work with others. Learn the necessary skills.
