In grading #22… Read the problem. Looking for lift, not density. Definition of lift given at the beginning of the problem. Watch conditions. An increase in atmospheric pressure does not make for a smaller hot-air balloon. Be consistent (to what you say and to what you know). If you said it, don’t contradict it. If you know it, don’t contradict it.

How to Improve The obvious Go to class, read the text, do the homework, etc. Manage your time more wisely. The not as obvious Change the way you view homework. Change your definition of “study”.

Free Response Questions #21 Section Video on Problem Solving. Problem in lecture. Chpts 3-5: At least 10 Challenge problems dealing with mixtures. Problem #121, Chapter 4.

Chapter 4 #121

Free Response Questions #22 Discussions in lecture. Practice Exam. Two problems in homework dealing with hot- air balloons. See especially #120c in Chapter 5.

Chapter 5 #120

Free Response Questions #23 Discussions in lecture. Many practice problems in homework with ICE tables (text and Lon-Capa). Videos. Challenge Problems with pistons and changing conditions (like #102, and others). Practice Exam discussing shifts. Discussion Question #8 in Chapter 6.

Chapter 6 #8

Grades Think of course as out of 1000 points 400 exam points 350 final exam points 100 quiz points 100 Lon-Capa homework points 50 discussion/text homework points 150 points are a given!
