MANAGER INFORMATION GUIDE

 League Fees are to be paid to your organization directly. Please do not pay the league.  Rosters are due in Pointstreak by Sept 1 for Midgets Major and Minor, U15 Midgets, Bantam Major and 19U and 16U Girls only.  All parents/guardians of players, coaches and managers need to complete a player registration online at hphl.us. Players are not eligible to play in HPHL games until the registration is complete. A registration is necessary for each player playing in the HPHL.  Pick up helmet stickers & game sheets from your Organization Director.  Academic Program information due Feb 1. Please ask your Organization Director the process of how they will collect the information.  Program information for the Midget Major, Minor, U15, Bantam Major and 14U, 16U and 19U girls this year will be obtained through the player registration online.  Pointstreak will be unlocked for you to schedule your local games in July 28 – Aug 10.

a) Boys U15/U16 Minor Midget and U18 Major Midget Games: i) League Showcase Games: All Showcase Games shall be 17 minute stop-time periods with a five (5) minute pre-game warm-up. This section applies to all HPHL Showcase Games. ii) Local League games: for HPHL local League games all HPHL midget games will be 17 minute stop- time periods with a five (5) minute pre-game warm up. iii) If the game is ties at the end of regulation play, the following Shoot Out Procedure will apply: A) Three different shooters from each team will take alternate shots, the team with the advantage in goals scored will be deemed the winner. B) If the game is still tied after three shots by each team there will be a sudden death shoot out which will continue in this manner until one team has scored the advantage in goals. C) After the first 3 shooters, the same or new players can take the tie-break shots. The same player can also be used for each shot by a team in the tie-break shoot-out. D) Only the decisive goal will count in the results. E) Shots will be taken at both ends of the ice. F) The home team will chose whether to shoot first or second. G) Any player whose penalty was not over when overtime ended cannot take the shots and must stay in the penalty box. H) The goalkeepers will defend the same goal, as determined by the Referee. I) The players of both teams will take the shots alternately. J) The team winning the Shoot Out Procedure receives two points and the other team receives one point for the game.

Boys U14 Bantam and Younger Games: i) League Showcase Games: All HPHL U14 Bantam and younger showcase games shall be 15 minute stop-time periods with a three (3) minute pre-game warm-up. This section applies to all HPHL games. ii) Local League games: for HPHL local League Games all HPHL Bantam and younger games will be 15 minute stop-time periods with a three (3) minute pre-game warm up. c) Girls’ 19U, 16U 14U, and 12U Games: League and Showcase Games: All HPHL Girls’ games shall be 15 minute stop-time periods with a three (3) minute pre-game warm-up. d) Ice Resurfacing between Periods: Ice resurfacing shall take place immediately after the first whistle after ten (10) minutes remaining in the second period in all HPHL Midget Showcase and local games. All local and League games at the Boys U14, U13, U12, U11, U10, and all Girls levels shall have an ice cut after the second period. e) Rest Time between Periods: Rest time between periods shall be one minute. In all HPHL games, at the end of each period of play in which a between-period ice resurfacing is not to take place, the timekeeper shall immediately run one minute (1:00) on the game clock and the next period shall begin immediately thereafter.

The HPHL regular season shall begin on September 1st of each year. All games must be completed and posted in Pointstreak by Sunday prior to the playoffs. All local and showcase games, including those played against guest teams will count in the standings. Schedules are posted on Pointstreak and updated there as well. Please check often to see any changes to the schedule.

 Very important – There is a financial penalty per trip each time you do not use the travel program for any league related event. All trips are tracked by.  U16/U18 should book their own hotels for the Blaine Showcase and U16 for the OHL Border Cup adhering to the guidelines of those showcases.  Travel form is located on the website.  Accuracy is critical when requesting rooms. Do not request more than you need.  Please notify Jill of any cancellations or date changes first.  Choose a hotel off the list and submit a request for each trip. A contract will be returned to you from the hotel.  Hotel conduct is a representation of our league. The highest code of conduct will be expected of all players/parents when traveling.  The hotel list is posted online at Under the Rinks/Hotels tab.

 All managers will receive an admin code for pointstreak, please see below.  Midgets, 15U Boys, Bantam Major and 19U and 16U Girls Managers will enter rosters into Pointstreak.  All other level managers will enter “Player 1” and “Goalie 1” into the rosters in pointstreak.  For the purposes of Pointstreak only, all managers will schedule home local games into pointstreak. For the purposes of Pointstreak, all levels except 19U Girls will schedule 2 home games with each local team. 19U Girl Managers will schedule 1 home game with each local team.  All Managers will use the code to score their home games both local and showcase. All games need to be entered no later than 24 hours after the game is played. If you would like to score the game live, please contact and they will set you up with an  Showcase host organizations are responsible for entering games where a non-HPHL guest team plays a non-HPHL guest team.  If a local game is scheduled incorrectly or a game is scored incorrectly, please contact Jill Hare at to correct.  After August 10, any game changes will need to be done on the game change form on the hphl.us website.  At the levels where stats are kept, all goalie stats need to be recorded for each game.  All game misconducts must be recorded under game notes including the game where the player has served.

 Statistics are kept for Midgets, 15U Boys, Bantam Major and 19U & 16U girls.  All stat changes are to be sent to Jill Hare by the Manager or the Coach. We do not make parent stat changes.  It is recommended to have someone independent keeping stats while the game is going on and any corrections should be made before the ref signs off on the game sheet.  If the corrections need to be made, please send to Jill Hare at  If you are the manager and you changing your own players stats, you must copy the coach.

 Midgets, 15U Boys, Bantam Major and 19U & 16U Girls should have their profiles uploaded into Pointstreak by Sept 15. Pointstreak rosters are due Sept 1 into Pointstreak.

 All levels will have Playoffs.  Format:  1 game Fri  2 games Sat  2 Semi Sun  1 Championship Sun  Specific Playoff rules will be posted to the HPHL website.

Congratulations to the Chicago Mission Hockey Club The winner!  Organizations will again have the opportunity to win the HPHL Trophy this coming season.  This trophy is awarded to the organization with the highest winning percentage at the end of the regular season. Keep update by checking the HPHL website throughout the season!

 Matt Triplett – DETROIT  Bill Fehrmann/Michael Barrett- CHICAGO  Detroit will schedule refs from the original master schedule on August 10. After that all games will need to be scheduled via the Game Change form.   Chicago will schedule with IHOA as in the past.  After August 10, all changes (for all teams) to the schedule will need to go through the GAME CHANGE FORM on the website.  Scrimmage games for Detroit can be scheduled through the website by using the Referee Request Form. A confirmation with the cost will be returned. Detroit will need to pay the refs at the game for all exhibition games.  For both the Game Change and the Referee Request form, you will receive and acknowledgement the request was received.

All communications can be found on the website. We recommend a “Communications Liaison” be assigned for each team so someone is responsible for sending in relevant information to be posted on the website along with pictures. Check the site often throughout the season for updates. When we make changes to the schedules etc…we will post on the website. Your team and its accomplishments are newsworthy!
