Cylinders – What Are They?
Presentation transcript:

Draw the plan and the elevation of the cylinder, leaving 30mm between views Ø 40

Draw a box around the plan.

Using the 30/60 square divide the circle in to 12.

Draw in the vertical generators.

Number the generators

Draw an isometric crate the same size as the cylinder

Add the centre lines.

Place a piece of scrap paper along the centre line and mark the generators on it.

Number the marks on the scrap paper

Place the scrap paper on to the top of the isometric crate with number four on the centre line

Mark the generators on the centre line

Lightly draw in the generators and number

Using the compass, step off the sizes from the plan to the isometric crate

Draw a smooth curve through each of the points.

To add the thickness, project each point down

Using the compass step off the thickness taken from the elevation

Draw a smooth curve through each of the points

Outline the rest of the cylinder.
