Timetable Swimming – every Tuesday for the first 2 terms. PE – every Thursday afternoon. Children to bring in trainers for this. Recorder groups – Thursday afternoon.

Homework Maths and English homework will be set on a Friday. All homework is to be returned on a Wednesday, in homework books. Expectations are set out in the front of the children’s Maths and English homework books. Parents/guardians to sign the homework, and tick off whether the child has completed it independently or with support.

Spellings Spellings will be set on a Monday. Spellings will be tested every Friday morning. These will be based on the spelling rule we have focused on during the previous week. Spellings will also link to the National Curriculum statutory spelling list.

Reading Expectation – children to read every night. Reading records to be brought in every day. Reading records will be checked daily for a signature. Reading can be a book from home, a book from school, a newspaper article.

Reading Scheme New reading scheme – no longer free readers. Once lime is complete, the children will move to Copper, Topaz and Ruby. This will continue throughout the school. This is an addition to any reading that a child does at home. The children will be unable to change their book unless a parent has signed their reading record, and it has been seen by a teacher.

Behaviour Expectations Ladder system – children to show that they are ready to learn. Children can be moved up and down the ladder, based on their behaviour. Class Targets will be set once a half term. These are set by the children.

Any questions?
