Stay & Play If you have a child aged 0 – 4 and would like to bring them along to play, build, draw, sing and share a story we would love to see you. Parents get the chance to have a chat and a cuppa too! Thursday 23 rd October 9am – 10am or 2pm to 3pm Useful websites for parents Parents in touch (resources, worksheets, information) BBC – Bitesize (educational website) Netmums.com (lots of local and UK wide information) Maths! Over the next few weeks we will be sending out some information about what we teach your children in Maths and how we teach them. In response to many parents asking for more support in this area we are then planning on holding some very informal Maths sessions for Parents/Carers. Look out for this information in your child’s book bag and come and see Ann if you have any questions about this. Come and Read Just a reminder that our Come and Read sessions are held every Monday at 2.55pm. From Monday 3 rd November we will be introducing these into our Reception classes too. So come along, listen to your child read, share a book with them, ask them about their story/book and encourage them to develop a love of reading. Come & Share Reception Parents & Carers Every Thursday 2.45pm Come to the Reception class library, share your child’s learning journey book with them and have a chat and a look around the classrooms School photograph day Friday 24 th October All children will have an individual photograph taken. In addition we will arrange for them to have their photograph taken with any brothers and sisters they have in school. Please make sure your child has their blue school sweatshirt or cardigan in school on that day. Also, we suggest Nursery children avoid wearing white as we photograph against a white background! Rag Bag collection! We will be holding a rag bag collection on Friday 7 th November. We will send bags home before half term for you to pop any unwanted items in. These can then be returned to school w/c 3 rd November.
