Standing on the Promises of God God’s Providence Romans 8:28

II Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) 3)According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4)Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Put God’s promises in context to gain their full meaning (they are precise) Be careful about claiming someone else’s promise (they are personal) Be willing to accept all of God’s promises The ultimate aim of God’s promises is to glorify himself Some of God’s promises are conditional Promises must be appropriated and applied by faith Don’t lose hope

Romans 8:28 (KJV) 28)And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

This Promise is Exclusive “to them who love the Lord…” This Promise is Inclusive “we” This Promise is Affirmative “know” This Promise is Comprehensive “all things” This Promise is Extensive “work”
