Website – Teachers update them often. Please check the website for grade level information. From the website you can access your child’s grades. The student account must be activated before the parent can access the information.
Homework schedule (Homework is graded.) Monday-Math and Reading Tuesday-Math and Reading Wednesday-Math Thursday-Math and Science Nightly AR reading is also required.
Graded work – Graded work comes home in the binder behind the correct subject tab. Empty the papers after you receive the report card for the 6 weeks.
Communication Folder – Fifth graders bring home a communication folder daily in their binders.. Inside the folder may be notes that are sent home, as well as the daily behavior chart. If there is a problem during the day and the student goes to orange on the behavior stick, then a Learn Note will be issued for the parent to read and sign. If a student goes to red on the behavior stick, he or she will visit the office. The behavior stick is reset at the end of the day and all students begin the next day on green.
Discipline- Be sure to look over behavior charts daily. If students receive a learn note, it means they’ve made 2 poor choices that day. The Learn Note needs to be signed by a parent and returned the next day. Character First- New program here at Mireles. Helps students build habits of honesty, diligence, responsibility and caring.
Lunch – Parents may choose to pay for their child’s lunch using MyLunchMoney.com By using the website, you can pay for lunch, set spending limits, and track when the money is spent. You can see which days your child ate breakfast in the classroom and you can see whether your child ate lunch and if he/she purchased additional items.
Birthdays – We love birthdays, but school policy says that parents are not permitted to send cookies or cupcakes to celebrate a child’s birthday. You may choose to celebrate your child’s birthday with the Birthday Book Club in the library. See Mrs. Fields for more information.
ESchoolPlus- Be sure to check Eschoolplus for students grades as they are posted. Instructions can be found inside the communication folder.
