Akchurin, 4 June XVth International Conference on Calorimetry in High Energy Physics, Santa Fe, NM Welcome to CALOR2012 o XVth International Conference on Calorimetry in High Energy Physics since it started in 1990 at Fermilab o New ideas and technologies emerged in calorimetry in the last decade that change the way we perform energy measurements in particle physics o We anticipate that this meeting will showcase new results and ideas and also trigger new initiatives and collaborations o This is the time to openly exchange information o Santa Fe is inspirational, and I hope that all will enjoy the arts and history of the area

Akchurin, 4 June XVth International Conference on Calorimetry in High Energy Physics, Santa Fe, NM Program CALOR I o A hardcopy of the program is included in your gift pack o Last minute changes will be reflected in the online schedule( # ) o This morning, we will hear two invited talks (ATLAS and CMS) on Higgs searches and the crucial role calorimeters play o Geoffrey West, Santa Fe Institute, will deliver the keynote presentation on Universal Scaling Phenomena in Biological Systems and in Urban Environments after the morning break o We have 80+ presentations this week o The session conveners (19) reviewed and grouped the presentations in a logical order

Akchurin, 4 June XVth International Conference on Calorimetry in High Energy Physics, Santa Fe, NM June 5, :27:04 o We have a small solar telescope (H  nm) and some solar filters for all to enjoy the transit o Cross of the Martyrs : On Paseo de Peralta, between Otero Street and Hillside Avenue, north of E. Marcy St. This short, but steep, walkway begins at a stairway located on Paseo de Peralta. At the top of the hill, a white cross commemorates 21 Franciscan priests killed during the Pueblo Revolt of o The next transit is in December 11, 2117!
