There are two types of questions: 1. Yes/no questions: Eg: - Are you ready? - Yes, I am. 2. WH questions: Eg: - What’s your name? - My name is Jenny.

Yes/No questions Do you play the guitar?Yes.

Yes/No questions Did Sofía come to class today? No.

Yes/No questions A Yes-No question is a question which has only two answers logically needed, they are: ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. This type of question is characterized by placing one auxilliary at the beginning of a sentence. E.g: - Do you know me? -Yes, I do.  short answer.

Yes/No questions The word "DO" is one of the auxilliaries in English. You can also use: Does, did, have, has, will, and "be" E.g. - Does she work here? - Did you do the homework? - Have you eaten? - Will you dance with me at the party tomorrow? - Is dad sick? However, the use of each auxiliary depends on the type of sentence and tense being used.

Yes/No questions For instance, you would like to ask someone for something that was happening in the past: Then you use ‘Did’: E.g. "Did you find my keys last night?“ Answer: Yes, I did. Now, you want to ask for something in the future: We use ´Will’: E.g. "Will you come to the party tomorrow night?" "No, I won’t"

Yes/No questions Be careful when you answer more than only ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. You have to use the same auxiliar that is in the question. Question: "Did you find my keys last night?“ Answer: "Yes, I did" Question: "Will you come to the party tomorrow night?" Answer: "No, I won’t"
