HR-UP at a Glance: - First ever joint German-Israeli PhD Program. - Competitive scholarships funded by the German Research Foundation (Berlin – Eu2.3 Million) and the Einstein Foundation (Jerusalem - Eu2 Million) for 5 years : three cohorts totaling PhDs in Berlin and Jerusalem, as well as Post- Docs. - First recruitment round attracted 150 applications from around the world, competing for 14 places.

5 RESEARCH PROGRAM Philosophy Law History The goals: -Establish a world class, highly prestigious, interdisciplinary PhD program and research group for Israeli, German and International advanced researchers. -Explore new challenges to human rights and traditional paradigms. -Create a transnational learning and research environment through regular interaction, summer schools, mobility and video-conference symposia. -Dramatically increase the availability of PhD level researchers and practitioners in human rights – in Israel, Germany and beyond.
