Status of accreditation of Independent entities O. Pluzhnikov JISC member Chair of Accreditation Panel

Determination (validation) of project PDD => JI project Make PDD publicly available through the secretariat. Receive comments from Parties, stakeholders and UNFCCC accredited observers. Determine whether requirements under the JI guidelines are fulfilled. Make determination publicly available through the secretariat with explanation of reasons, incl. summary of comments received and how due account has been taken. Determination (verification) of emission reductions => issuance of ERUs Receive report from project participants in accordance with the monitoring plan and determine GHG reductions by sources and removals by sinks (monitored and calculated according to the monitoring plan) Make determination publicly available through the secretariat, explanation of reasons Accredited Independent Entities – Key functions

Work, accomplished so far Procedure for accrediting independent entities Other procedural documents (list of sectoral scopes, different forms, incl. form for application for accreditation) Many JI-AP internal procedures Roaster of experts for JI-ATs (done 2 calls) JI-ATs and their workplans established for 12 applicant IEs JISC-3 decided to start the accreditation process by the end of JISC-4 decided to start the Joint Implementation accreditation process on 15 November 2006 with the understanding that its procedures for accreditation will be effective as of that day.
