Unit Assessments These are required for all levels Assessed as Pass or Fail by the school Can be assessed in different ways: Assignment Case Study Practical Activity Performance Portfolio Project Question Paper(Test)

Added Value Assessment Required only for National 4 Set by the SQA Assessed as Pass or Fail by the school These are internally moderated Undergo an SQA quality assurance process

Course Assessments In most cases a final exam and one other method from the previous list are used A few courses are entirely assessed by the school(Dance, Hospitality) Results are graded from A to D or No Award A to C is a pass D is a recognition of achievement

Prelim Arrangements 11th Jan to 22nd Jan 2016 Prelims are timetabled within the school day and pupils are expected to attend classes when not sitting an exam. Three sessions per day(1+2, 3, 4+5, 6+7) No pupil will be required to sit three exams on one day

SQA Exams Wed 4 May until Fri 3 June Study leave for all S5/6 pupils Study leave for all S4 pupils doing 4 or more Nat 5 exams Study leave of two days and the exam day per Nat 5 exam for pupils doing 1,2 or 3 Nat 5 exams

Results Service The SQA offer two services Exception Circumstances Services(bereavement, serious illness) submitted before results are issued. Post Results Service( a clerical check or a marking review) There needs to be compelling evidence before these are requested. The Grade could go DOWN as well as up.
