National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) TCQS-DEC MRA Workshop Workshop held on 27 th –28 th May 2008 at Dhaka, Bangladesh Attended by 31 participants from Australia,Bangladesh,Cambodia,China,Germany,I ndia,Indonesia,Korea,Lao PDR,Malaysia,Mongolia,Nepal,France (CIPM),Pakistan,Philippines,Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam Aims of the workshop –to assist 5 targeted APMP developing economies to define work plans for MRA participation Targeted NMIs were Bangladesh,Nepal,Pakistan,Philippines and Sri Lanka

National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) 6 TCQS –DEC MRA Workshop Presentations (Cont.) –Recent APMP Developing Economy experiences & lessons learned – Dr. Husein Akil, KIM-LIPI, Indonesia and Dr. Vu Khanh Xuan, VMI, Vietnam –Presentations from each NMI on plans to participate in the CIPM MRA and any associated issues / concerns –Mr. Rabby Lutfur, Bangladesh, Dr. S R Joshi, Nepal, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Pakistan, Ms. Aurora Kimura, Philippines and Dr. Mubarak, Sri Lanka. From 5 presentations of targeted NMIs,found that their QMS are under developed and reviewed by management.

National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) 7 Working Group Activities : 5 WGs worked on participation strategies for each targeted NMI TCQS-DEC MRA Workshop Result from the workshop related to QS - TCQS-DEC Workshop on development of Quality Systems for NMIs - including implementation (internal audits,pre- assessment reviews, etc.)
