MY INDIAN LIFE By: Maegan Parker McCrary

ABOUT ME hi my name is This is my story …

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: TEEPEES

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: OUR CLOTHES I'm going to the woods my most favorite place of all. But….I have to go in the woods to find our clothes it stinks. I only like going in the woods and hunting for animal to eat. I have to wear knee high length skirts earrings and moccasins (shoes). My dad is going with me because he has to pick out stuff to wear and he wears breechcloth and leggings.

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: TIME FOR THE TURKEY YES ! Boom Got one. Oh yeah hi I just shot a turkey to eat. Turkey is my favorite type of food. And guess what……. I just shoot one. I eat it all the time but I also have to eat beans and squash eeeewww. My mom says “its healthy for you, you will get stronger if you eat”. Yeah like I will believe her. I got to shoot more turkey see you later.

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: INFORMATION YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T NOW Hello right now I'm about to tell you a little more about my tribe here we go… first off my tribe is one of the to federally recognized tribes in the state sadly we are behind Mashantucket Pequot. Mohegan means wolf. That’s my favorite animal, but I’ve never seen one. It just sounds cool. The Mohegan tribe and the Pequot tribe used to be together until the Pequot war in 1637which brook us up. So that was some information you probably didn’t now.

JOURNAL ENTRY #2: I ALMOST RAN INTO A BEAR AND SAW COOL PLANTS Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! That was me screaming from a bear. It was a black bear. Since we are talking about animals I'm going on a hunt and I'm going to tell you what animals I see. I will have to tell you of course I saw some turkey my favorite animal to eat. Some of these animals just walk past because they have no home the don’t all live here. I also saw some cool plants one is named the wild bergamot it is so amazing it is purple.

JOURNAL ENTRY #2: ____ (SEASON) Geography of my tribal region Earth’s surface (physical features)

JOURNAL ENTRY #3: Weather Weather description (in general)

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: ____ (SEASON) Weather Weather’s impact on daily life

JOURNAL ENTRY #1: ____ Severe weather example (tornado, earthquake, etc.) Description

JOURNAL ENTRY #3: MY SURVIVAL PACK “BANG” oh yeah hi that sound you just heard was a spear. I just finished throwing it to the target. I carry spears like everywhere I go.

REFLECTION:1 THE FUTURE Hello this is me. I am now a grown up. It is hard. I still eat the same food. Every thing is exactly the same. But it is not hard having to find food since we have more resources. Right now I'm hiking with my friends. We are having fun. I like more now then when I was not a teenager. I think that’s what they call us or “teens.” We were the same clothes. I don’t complain as much because when I get older I don’t want to complain anymore.

REFLECTION My final thoughts are that it was hard finding information on my tribe. And when I started I didn’t know anything about this tribe but now I know a lot. I think I got a b+ because this was a really hard project and I wasn’t shore if I was just listing facts or actually listing facts and having action at the same time. If I did this project over I would probably pick another tribe if I could because it was a really hard to find information. I would also try to work n it everyday so I wouldn’t have to bring it home over the weekends.
