CAF Cycle IDENTIFY ASSESS RESPONSE REVIEW

Information Sharing and Consent Presumption to Share

Who will use CAF & When? Any Practitioner can use the CAF with an individual child or young person. Do not use the CAF when: Progress is good. Needs are identified and already being met. Needs are clear and all can be met from one service. There is no consent. Social Care are already working with the child/family. Use the CAF when: There are concerns about progress or well-being Needs are unclear and not being met Needs are broader than your service can address. If, at any time there are concerns that a child may be at risk of harm, follow LSCB procedures without delay.

TO CAF OR NOT TO CAF?

ANALYSING ASSESSMENTS: THE FIVE ANCHOR PRINCIPLES Why is the assessment/work being done? What is the story? What does the story mean? What needs to happen? How will we know we are making progress?

Assessment Triangle
