WELCOME Grand Valley State University United Way Campaign 2016 Captains Training Campaign Dates: Oct 3 – Oct 14

GVSU Strategic Plan 2016 – 2021 “We are the community’s university.” – President Haas Values: Grand Valley State University values its connections to, participation with, and responsibility to local communities, West Michigan, the state, the nation, and the world. Outcomes: Grand Valley has mutually beneficial relationships, partners, collaborations, and connections with local, state, national, and world communities.

IN 2015, BECAUSE OF GVSU’S $174,000 CAMPAIGN… WHAT MIGHT WE ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER IN 2016? 280 children could attend after-school academic support programs 340 people received job skill training to find stable employment 1,364 people attended programs to reduce or eliminate abuse, neglect and violence 3,744 people received assistance through food pantries, meals on wheels, and food programs
