Warming-Up is Central in Sport

 To optimize performance while decreasing risk of injury during practice and competition

 “Warm-up” specifically emphasizes the role of heating up the body and muscles prior to training  This term does not adequately capture what needs to happen prior to training competition  MOVEMENT PREPERATION has been proposed as an alternative to the term “Warm-Up”

 “The complete integration of your shoulders, torso and hips working together to produce efficient movement patterns”

 At the center of ALL movement  Generates energy from it  Transfers energy through it

 If the pillar lacks stability & mobility, inefficient movement and energy leaks are the result

 Injury Prevention  Decreasing energy leaks also decreases stress on each of the bodies segments and promotes maintenance of proper posture

 Ankle sprains  Knee injuries  35% of injured players were absent from soccer for more than 1 month, 28% had complaints 12 months after the end of the season with knee injuries the most serious.
