Many did not want American foreign policy restricted by the League of Nations. Why did so many countries allow dictators to rise to power? These countries felt that they were not treated fairly after WWI and dictators promised to restore the glory of their respective country. Why do you think there was so much opposition to the Treaty of Versailles in America? Answers will vary, but should include the idea that most Americans had doubts about the harsh treatment Germany was given.
