Introduction to TSU Tbilisi State University (TSU) was established in Founded by Professor Ivane Javakhishvili, TSU is the first Georgian university as well as the oldest higher education institution in the South Caucasus Region.

Internationalization Ever since Georgia joined the Bologna Process in 2005, internationalization has been an essential part of TSU’s development strategy. TSU has made great progress in aligning itself with its European counterparts. Since then, TSU has been actively involved in establishing Memoranda of Understanding with institutions of higher educations abroad. Since 2004, TSU has signed over 150 memoranda of understanding with Higher Education Institutions across the world.
Exchange programs at TSU Together with European partners, TSU actually gets a wide range of funded proposals within Erasmus+ exchange program for student & staff mobility Marie Curie Actions - International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES, funded by EU) Mevlana - student exchanges between Georgian and Turkish Higher Education Institutions (funded by the government of Turkey) Exchange Program within bilateral agreements – up to 40 scholarships annually
San Diego State University Georgia California (USA) Branch of SDSU at TSU SDSU is offering internationally accredited BA programs enabling Georgian students to receive a high quality STEM education and earn American degrees. Harvard Summer Program at TSU June-August, 2016 Organized by Harvard Department of Slavic language TSU hosted the summer school where 20 Harvard students, professors were participated. The main focus of the interdisciplinary course was on the languages, history and culture.

Student life at TSU The Department of Culture and Sport (DCS) offers a wide variety of events for students to take advantage of at TSU. DCS provides students with sport facilities. DCS offers international students opportunities to learn about Georgian culture through hosting of events such as traditional dance lessons, concerts, theatrical performances. Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Universal – ESN Tbilisi UNI represents the needs and rights of international students on the national and international level. ESN Tbilisi UNI offers help in social and practical integration process. This is mainly done through activities in the local sections, which include cultural and social events.
