General Instructional Objective. Through this chapter, you will: practise to pronounce the English alphabet. you will recognize how to pronounce vowels, consonants, and diphthongs properly. learn the phonetics symbols of the alphabet. listen to the alphabet and the song.

Specific Instructional Objectives. Through this chapter, you will: spell the alphabet. spell your name and your hometown. spell at least 5 of your friends’ names and their hometowns. write down the phonetics symbols for each letter of your name and your hometown. write down the phonetics symbols for each letter of your friends’ names and their hometowns.

VOWEL Vowel is a speech sound in which the mouth is open and the tongue is not touching the top of the mouth, the teeth, etc. In Bahasa: a, i, u, e, o In English: a, e, i, o, u aeiou /ei//i://ai//ə ʊ //ju/

CONSONANT Consonant is a speech sound made by (partly) stopping the breath with the tongue, lips, etc the letter of the alphabet that represents a consonant sound, such as: b, c, and d.
