A Promise-keeping God 2 Peter 1:4

A Promise-Keeping God n Any promise is only as good as its maker. n Since the beginning, God has been making and keeping promises. n Much of what we enjoy as Christians depends on God’s reliability

He is willing n Heb. 10:23 – “… He who promised is faithful” n Heb. 11:11 – Sarah considered him faithful who had promised n 2 Peter 3:9 – “God is not slack concerning his promises”

He is able n 2 Timothy 6:12 – “…he is able to keep that which I have delivered unto him…” n 2 Corinthians 1:20 – “as many as may be the promises of God, in him they are yes” n Titus 1:2 – God’s promises are assured by his inability to lie!

God’s “track record” n Gen 3:15 – The first promise of salvation n Gen. 12:1-3 – God’s promise to Abraham n Ex. 3&4 – God’s promises to Moses n Josh. 1:5 – “I will never leave you…” n 2 Sam. 7:16 – “your kingdom will endure” n God’s promises to Saul nActs 22:15, 23:11, 28:16,30, 31
