Ashgate Nursery September Newsletter Learning at Ashgate We are going to be welcoming and settling our new starters over the next couple of weeks and this is always a good time to reinforce the rules, routines and expectations of all our children at Ashgate. Learning for this term will begin by sharing the ‘Owl Babies’ story and learning all about each other. If you want to find out more about what we are busy doing Please ask any member of staff. Coffee Morning/ Open Event Central Nursery School are holding a Macmillan coffee morning/ open event on Friday 23 rd September from 9-11am. If you would like to support the Macmillan cancer charity, have a look around Central or just join us for coffee and cake then please pop along and join in the fun. There will be refreshments, a cake stall and raffle. Clothing As the weather starts to change please remember to… -Send your child to nursery with a coat, warm clothes and sturdy shoes – velcro fastenings are best. -Name your child’s clothes (this really helps us to return lost items). -Use a bag to pop a change of clothes into to keep on their peg. Welcome Back It’s lovely to be able to welcome everyone to another school year here at Ashgate Nursery. As well as welcoming back everyone from last year; it is lovely to get to know all our new children and families. I hope you all enjoyed the summer break and let’s hope the sunshine stays with us for a little longer. We have many exciting events planned already, please find attached the ‘Dates for your diary’ sheet so that you can plan ahead. Dates for your diary  New term begins  – Macmillan Coffee Morning/Open event 9-11am (At Central Nursery)  – Parents Day Snack money Just a reminder that snack money for this half term is £7, please pay at the office. This money also pays for the ingredients needed for our baking sessions. Attendance This is one of the most important phases in a child’s development and learning so please make sure that your child attends nursery as regularly as possible. If your child is ill, please telephone school at the earliest opportunity. Update your contact details Over the next few days you will receive a copy of the details we hold about you and your child. Please check them, make any amendments needed and return them to the office as soon as possible. Thank you Name Changes We have decided to change our names to use our title and full name rather than just our first name. This will aid your children’s transition to Primary school. Although it will be a challenge for us all to remember, we would appreciate your support with reinforcing this at home. To help we have put staff names on the back of this newsletter.
