Novant Health System  Novant Health is a non-for-profit system of 15 medical centers in 530 locations across the southeast, including:  North Carolina  South Carolina  Virginia  Georgia  This Health System includes numerous outpatient surgery centers, medical plazas, rehabilitation programs, diagnostic imaging centers, and community health outreach programs.

History  Novant was formed in July 1, 1997 by the merger of Coralina Medicorp and Presbyterian Health Services of Charlotte, NC.  The meger was done by an all-women staff.  Their oldest hospital, Twin City Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC, was founded in  This past year, Novant’s VA operations joined UVA Culpeper Hospital to form Novant UVA Health System.

Vendors  Novant Health has always included successful partnerships with diverse suppliers.  In 2006, they created a new position labeled the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Manager who encourages partnerships with overlooked businesses, such as those owned by women, minorities, veterans, and physically-challenged individuals.  In 2012, Novant was awarded wit the Leadership Award for Supply Chain Management Excellence in the category of supplier diversity
