In order to be able to deliver services which meet the needs of the whole community Fire and Rescue Authorities need to introduce, review and maintain effective employment policies, procedures and processes so that they can: recruit people with the right skills and potential; develop them to realise that potential, support them by ensuring they are valued, treated fairly and with respect; and provide them with equality of opportunity to progress.
