Accessible Portable Item Protocol (APIP)

 Three major components: 1.Accessible Assessment Content: include alternate or supplemental content representations, sequences, and/or information about companion material. 2.Test Taker Personal Needs Profile (PNP): Information is used with the APIP QTI package by having all information needed to enable the various accessibility elements in the assessment content. 3.Assessment Delivery System: Delivery system combines the accessible content (APIP QTI) and the PNP to deliver the appropriate testing experience for all test takers. APIP is a STANDARD Accessibility is a GOAL  Measured Progress uses the IMS* APIP (Accessible Portable Item Protocol) and QTI (Question and Test Interoperability) standards, enabling clients to create, share, and use assessment content with rich support for accessibility. This allows the test developer or publisher the ability to tailor the presentation of the question items to fit the accessibility needs of the user.  The APIP v1.0 standard is based on the IMS QTI v2.1 specification.
