Introduction At different occasions and times we eat different foods. For instance, at Christmas we eat turkey, at Halloween, we eat sweets!

Scottish Day Robert Burns (a famous Scottish poet) was born on 25 th of January We celebrate the day he was born by eating haggis. We also eat turnip, mashed potato and neeps.

Halloween At Halloween, lots of children dress up in costumes and go to other peoples houses to collect sweets. They also carve pumpkins into scary faces. They also get given toffee apples.

Christmas At Christmas ( 25 th December) we don’t just have a normal dinner, we have a special Christmas Dinner. This includes soup for starters, turkey and some vegetables and then for dessert we have Figgie Pudding. When we have our main course we also have brussle sprouts. For treats, children get candy canes.

Birthdays! On peoples birthdays, they usually have parties to celebrate. At the party they have yummy food like a birthday cake. It usually has the same number of candles as there age. They have lots of other foods like cup cakes, sweets, fizzy drinks and mini sausages.

New Year At New Year (1 st January) we celebrate the start of a whole new year. We usually eat shortbread, steak pie, soup, trifle and scotch broth.

Pancake Tuesday Pancake Tuesday is celebrated on the 20 th February. We usually eat (yep! You guessed it!) pancakes.
