IoT segmentation (technolgy capabilities) Consumer IoT Industrial IoT Enterprise IoT Smart city Home energy mgmt Fleet management Asset tracking Supply chain Smart manufacturing Telemetry Autonomous driving E-health Home automation Digital signage Building automation V2X Smart grids Technology and standards for Consumer and Enterprise IoT are largely available and consolidating. Industrial IoT is still at its early phases of developments. Source: Omar Elloumi

Maturity levels Industrial IoT Consumer IoT Enterprise IoT Source: Omar Elloumi Based on Gartner maturity curve

Assessment of oneM2M Capabilities for Consumer IoT and Enterprise IoT are largely covered by R1 and R2 – We do not pretend to cover the full scope as our standards are part of a bigger picture Market adoption is the next challenge. How to achieve this goal should be the major focus area moving forward – New features should be based on deployment feedback New work items related to industrial

Proposal for R3: three main tracks by order of priority Market adoption track – High priority Specification simplification Developer view Interop and certfication Robustness and optimization Industrial IoT track – second priority A new development area As much as possible should not disrupt the Market adoption track (start with TRs first) Need to attrack more experts and reassess our collaboration strategy DDS, time sensitive use cases, semantics evolution Future looking track – third priority Forward looking topics Generate TRs for next steps

Release duration R3: 12 months Consider to publish R2.1 to advertise TSs that will note make it for R2
