Who are we?

What is Crowdfunding? Raise money, awareness, and support for a project from the people around you. In return backers are thanked with rewards Crowdfunding has raised millions of pounds for thousands of charities.

Secret Pillow Project Kickstarter raised £16,571 from 242 backers Crowdfunder raised £32,364 from 302 backers

Kids R Us Community Youth Theatre Crowdfunder raised £2,300 for sparkly shoes from 81 backers

How do I crowdfund?

Step 1 - Choose your crowdfunding platform

Choose your approach Two ways to crowdfund All or nothing Keep what you raise

Step 2 - Tell your story Use the video, description, aim and images on your platform to tell your story. Who you are What your idea is What the money is for Keep it short, clear, low budget!

Step 3 - Build your team A leader with the drive, vision and influence to make the campaign a success. Subject and market knowledge Good networker Digitally savvy Someone to shout about it

Step 4 - Identify your crowd and plan how to reach them Who is going to support your campaign? Existing supporters Contacts of existing supporters Corporate supporters Community supporters Can you name the first ten people who will pledge?

Step 5 - Set your rewards Rewards can be grouped under the following themes: Events Products Experience Thank you Sponsorship E.g.

Step 6 - Set your target How do I work out my target? Setting a realistic target can increase your chances of getting funded. Make it ambitious but not ridiculous! Remember you can add a stretch target and over fund the project.

Step 7 - Shout about it Before - one month of pre-promotion, create a project plan with what you are going to update and when, create twitter and facebook pages, create a blog During - Friendly s to supporters, continue on social media, tweet a few times a day, organise a launch event, contact local press After - Regular updates, progress reports on the projects, keep supporters informed of when they will receive their rewards, invite them to future events, crowdfund again!
