Updated Recommendations for Release Buckets

02/07/ Revised Release Buckets Based on feedback from 01/24/2008 MT Task Force meeting, ERCOT made the following updates to the Release Buckets proposed to accommodate Market concerns. The driver for these changes are to reduce Market Test and Training, yet still isolate testing at ERCOT to deliver quality. Updates to Release 1: 1 st Production Release for MarkeTrak will implement requirements listed under bucket 1 on Release Buckets_ xls. With the following exception: ERCOT recommends to Move Req. 8 and 32 to Release 2 to consolidate Market Test ** - Pro: There is limited time for Market Test during the 1 st Release nor Flight Test contingency period available. Moving to Release 2 will allow for 1 Market Test during the 0608Flight Test Contingency timeframe. **(see next slide and Release Buckets_ xls)

02/07/ Revised Release Buckets – Cont’d Updates to Release 2: 2 nd Production Release for MarkeTrak will implement requirements listed for Bucket 2 and Bucket 3 from the Release Bucket_ xls. ERCOT will still phase the 2 buckets separately into test to allow for test isolation on that grouped functionality. –Pro: Only1 Market Test during the 0608 Flight Test Contingency timeframe, Consolidated training, and 1 PROD migration on 08/16/2008 (still allows for 2 weeks stabilization). **Moved REQ 16 to Release 2 due to cross-dependency with REQ 13. Moved REQ 33 to Release 3 to balance code and test due to change.

02/07/ Revised Release Buckets – Cont’d Updates to Release 3/4: Previous Bucket 4 is now the 3 rd and final Release. This is due to consolidation of Buckets 2 and 3 into Release 2. The only change to this release is the Production migration date is now scheduled for 12/06/2008 in order to synch the Market Test with the 1008 Flight Test Contingency period. –Pro: Allows for Market Test during 1008 Flight Test Contingency ***This is still is subject to Nodal Lock down that ERCOT will continue to monitor.

Overview on Sandbox Testing

02/07/ Overview of Sandbox Expectations Sandbox will be made available to Market Participants starting 05/20/2008. Functionality will be phased into the Sandbox as it is tested. What this means to Market Participants is that limited functionality is guaranteed for testing until the notification that it is available has been messaged. Estimated Sandbox Release Dates: 05/20 – Sandbox is updated current to Production 06/16 – Sandbox is updated with Release 1 07/09 – Sandbox is updated with Release 2 07/28 – Sandbox ends for Market Test 08/04 thru 08/08 – Market Test Release 2 10/13 – Sandbox is updated with Release 3 (an earlier date is possible) 11/10 – Sandbox Ends 11/17 thru 11/21 – Market Test

Overview on Training

02/07/ Overview on Training Release 1 – ERCOT will distribute documentation via Market Notice with all the changes that will be in Release 1. These changes will be presented to the Market at the scheduled MarkeTrak Workshop on May 16 th, Release 2 – ERCOT will distribute documentation via Market Notice with all the changes that will be in Release 2. These changes will be presented in three 2-day sessions to be scheduled at a future time. Estimating the week of 06/24-06/30. Each of the 2-day sessions will potentially be held in different locations to accommodate travel needs. Will firm up the dates for training by March MT Task Force. Release 3 – ERCOT will distribute documentation via Market Notice with all the changes that will be in Release 3. These changes will be presented to the Market at the scheduled MarkeTrak Workshop on November 21 st, 2008.

Budget Update

02/07/ Budget Update Now that we are nearing the end of Planning Phase, an increase to the Total Project Budget to $1M-$2M range is being presented this month to RMS, PRS, TAC and the Board. Funding is available in the RO PPL from other projects that will not be started this year due to Nodal Lock downs. This is inline with the IA and CBA presented in 07/2007. This increase is due to the following: Licensing: Unexpected purchase of 100 concurrent licenses and maintenance at $353K. Serena Software notified ERCOT in October 2007 that they will be moving to “Named” licensing in February Contract Development Staff: There are limited windows available for implementation in 2008 due to Nodal upcoming code freezes, therefore 3 Contract resources are required to meet delivery expectancies (2 for Serena and 1 for Siebel). This will also reduce any resource constraints for FTEs working on Nodal Development in these areas. The $960,000 original budget estimate assumed ERCOT labor during 2007 PPL planning (prior to having requirements).
