The Big Idea: A (Godly) purpose driven life is a life that is controlled and directed by God’s purposes under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit!

Q. What is the chief end of man? A.The glorify God and to enjoy Him forever! The Westminster Shorter Catechism

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus….” Philippians 2:5

“I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.” John 17:4 - 2 Corinthians 5: 17-21

How can we bring glory to God? 1) We bring God glory by worshipping him. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is Your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1

2) We bring God glory by loving other believers. How can we bring glory to God? “A new command I give you: Love on another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

3) We bring God glory by becoming like Christ. How can we bring glory to God? “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

4) We bring God glory by serving others with our gifts. How can we bring glory to God? “Each on should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms….so that in all things God may be praised!” 1 Peter 4:10-11

5) We bring God glory by telling others about him. How can we bring glory to God? “All of this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15

How can we possibly do this five things? “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption caused by evil desires” 2 Peter 1:3-4
