The United States of America Week Two

Day One Questions 1.What continent is the United States located on? 2.How many states are there in the US? 3.What does contiguous mean? 4.What country borders the US to the north and south? 5.What bodies of water border the United States on the south, east and west? 6.What two states are not part of the contiguous United States? 7.Draw a compass rose on the blank map. 8.Label answers 4, 5 and 6 on the map.

Day One Answers 1.North America Touching 4.Canada borders the US to the north, and Mexico borders it to the south. 5.The Gulf of Mexico borders the US to the south, the Pacific Ocean borders the US to the west and the Atlantic Ocean borders it to the east. 6.Hawaii and Alaska are not part of the contiguous US.

Day Two Questions 1.When did we declare our independence from Great Brittan? 2.What is the population of the United States? 3.What was the first, second and third (and current) capital of our nation?

Day Two Answers 1.July 4 th, ,232,044 3.Our nation’s first capital was New York city, the 2 nd was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the final and current capital is Washington, DC.
