COTTON INDIAN ELEMENTARY LEADER IN ME

WHAT IS A TITLE 1 SCHOOL? Each year the Federal Government provides funding to schools that qualify based on the number of students receiving free and reduced lunches (71.61%). The goal of Title 1 is to create a partnership between school and family to ensure our students reach their highest level of social and academic achievement and to overcome barriers to success. Title 1 provides additional assistance for students who show deficits in the area of reading and/or math. Student participation is based on F and P scores, IKAN/GLOSS, GA Milestones. Students receive instruction in smaller settings and are served by certified teachers.

HOW DOES OUR SCHOOL SPEND TITLE 1 FUNDING? Total funding for CIE this year was $289,450. Staff salaries and benefits total $197,880. Remaining $91, will be allocated in the following ways: * Summer ED Camp * Title Tutors * Non Fiction Text * Staff Development Planning * Supplies for Family Resource Room * Supplies for Title teachers and PIP

ENVIRONMENTAL & CELEBRATIONS Responsible for beautifying the school building with positive affirmations on the walls, photos of students working, and filling each others buckets. Also responsible for organizing and planning celebrations of success for both students and staff.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING & CURRICULUM INTEGRATION Responsible for assisting staff in learning about the Leader in Me process and providing instructional resources to classroom teachers. The team will compile a lesson plan notebook as well to present at monthly faculty meetings.

DATA & LEADERSHIP NOTEBOOKS Responsible for ensuring that all teachers have the necessary tools and resources to assist their students with creating Leadership/Data Notebooks. Resources will be uploaded into Google Drive.

EVENTS & SCHOOL-WIDE LEADERSHIP ROLES Responsible for ensuring that Leadership events at Cotton Indian Elementary are carried out with rigor and fidelity on a consistent basis.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT Responsible for educating families in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Building a bridge between home and school to ensure a well rounded use of leadership qualities. Also, to utilize a variety of media sources in order to collaborate with our CIE community.
