Overview  How we got here  Where we’re at  Where we’re going  How you can help

How we got here  GPUS Strategic Plan called for us to “Run and Elect More Candidates” (Goal 2)  Specified that the CCC, along with the Steering Committee and State Party leaders, develop an electoral strategy that would “build results over time, in increased vote totals and victories, on both the local/state levels and the Presidential level.”

How we got here  CCC began brainstorming strategies (7) in and narrowed down the field to three broad choices (February 2015)  Developed a survey that asked individuals to reflect on the three strategies (June 2015)  112 respondents drawing from local and state party leaders as well as candidates and others closely involved in electoral campaigns  Decision was made to adopt an “issues- based” strategy

How we got here  CCC developed a plan on what an issues-based strategy would look like when fully realized (Fall 2015)  Distinct campaign for each issue  Goal to drive traffic to candidate campaigns (volunteers, donors, media)  Support candidates with issue expertise  Attract candidates passionate about these issues
